I have been lucky in that my school district provides excellent opportunities for professional development. What follows is a list of experiences I have participated in.
2012-2015 : BVSD 21st century Technology cohort 1.0
I am currently participating in the first generation (1.0) of the 21st Century Technology Cohort. I was given 6 iPads to use in my classroom and tons of PD training - about 2-3 pull-out days per year in additional to other out-of-school training. You can read about my experiences, upon finishing the first year, here on my blog, and the website is located here.
CO Gafe 2013 : google apps for education rocky mountain summit
In August 2013, I culminated my summer of technology in education conferences but returning to my own high school which was hosting this year's GAFE summit. It was a great opportunity to refresh right before jumping back into the school year.
iste 2013 : international society for technology in education
I had the inspiring experience of traveling to San Antonio, Texas, to attend the ISTE 2013 conference. I jokingly called the conference "TIE on Steroids" -- and it was an overwhelmingly inspiring conference to attend. Read more about my experiences on my blog here.
TIE 2013 : Technology in education
I attended a conference in June, 2013, at Copper Mountain, Colorado, a conference for educators to learn more about incorporating Web 2.0 and electronic devices in their classrooms. I made a series of blog posts about TIE here.
ACTFL 2011 : american council for the teaching of foreign languages
I attended the national conference for ACTFL the year that it was located in Denver, 2011. It was a refreshing experience to see what solutions people offered in the various sessions about keeping your classroom in your target language, working towards more TPRS-based instruction, and other inspiring sessions.
2007 - 2008 : BVSD Equity cohort ix :
The BVSD Equity Cohort was a year-long out-of-classroom opportunity that I had to participate in. We met once a month and left Boulder for two overnight retreats during the year. The Cohort explored themes of equality and equity in school settings within themes that centered on class, race and gender and other issues that lead to inequity in our school district.
